Gas Appliance Installation

SoCal Sewer and Water provides gas appliance installation for residential and commercial properties. A proper gas appliance installation requires more than connecting a gas line. The piping system must have enough capacity, the appliance must have appropriate isolation, and any relevant venting and clearance requirements must be considered.

Residential Gas Appliances

Gas Capacity

Before installing a larger appliance, the existing piping should be evaluated. A gas appliance can only operate properly when the supply system can deliver the fuel volume and pressure the equipment requires.

Shutoff Valves and Connections

Appliances need appropriate shutoff access, and existing valves may need replacement if damaged or unsuitable.

Testing

New gas connections should be checked before the appliance is placed into service. SoCal Sewer and Water evaluates the appliance and gas supply as one connected system. Correct sizing, shutoff access, connections, and verification are what make the installation complete.
